Day 1: Rainforest, Culture & Wildlife Experience

Tuesday 19 September 

A great day awaits you, as you embark on a fascinating journey to the famous Kuranda Rainforest Village. After your complimentary coach transfer from your Cairns accommodation, you will board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, for your journey up to Kuranda.  You will have a couple of hour’s free time to explore this quaint little ‘village in the rainforest’, the famous heritage markets and to grab a bite to eat for lunch (at own expense). After lunch, take the short coach trip to Rainforestation Nature Park. Indulge in the range of interactive activities on offer at this award winning nature reserve. Activities include: Informative rainforest tour on the amphibious Army Duck, interactive performance by the Pamagirri Aboriginal Cultural Performers, Meet the local animals including Koalas, Kangaroos, and witness the fierce Crocodile feed show.

Return to your Cairns accommodation by air-conditioned coach taking in the stunning views over Cairns and the Coral Sea.

Day 2: Green Island, Great Barrier Reef, & Underwater Worlds

Wednesday 20 September 

This two part day tour starts with a fast catamaran cruise to the world famous Green Island, a 6000 year old coral cay located in the Great Barrier Reef Marina Park. Here you have an exciting range of optional activities to explore this tropical paradise. Start with a self guided Island Eco Walk and learn of the rich history of the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. You’ll also have the choice of glass bottom boat coral viewing or snorkelling equipment to take in the wonders of the surrounding reef eco system, use of Green Island day visitor facilities, and resort swimming pool before your return cruise to Cairns.

Returning to Cairns at lunch time (lunch is at own expense), take your time and make your way on foot (800m) to the newly opened Cairns Aquarium (opening April 2017). Take an interactive guided tour through this underwater wonderland learning many of the great unknowns of the animals and plants that make up the waters of the Great Barrier Reef, and Tropical Australian Waterways.
